Youth Confirmation

The youth confirmation course is designed for high schools students to learn the basics of the faith.  The class examines the components of Luther’s Small Catechism, namely: the Ten Commandments, the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer and the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.  Used as the foundation for studying all these different parts are the Old and New Testament.

Some of the activities in which the youth participate are acolyting and helping usher during the Sunday morning worship service, writing out sermon notes and engaging in service to the congregation and greater community.

The youth confirmation class meets on Wednesday evening during the school year from 6:00-7:00 PM.  The students also attend the Wednesday evening Lenten services and meet with an adult mentor following the service.
